The above works were produced during a workshop on the theme of Peace in TFO 1.2. The aim was to explore visual weight in design, and each work had to include 1 abstract form, 1 figurative object, and 1 line structure, with no limitation in treatment.
After researching the theme for a few days, our team chose to address the statement "Make Peace With Your Past". Our idea was inspired by an animated short film about Akiko Takakura, a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing.
We all carry mental issues that are not easy to move on from. This workshop was a conversation with our inner selves, a chance to make peace with our past. We visually expressed our messages through collages of our body parts and journaling.
To experiment, I also printed out the parts and used my scanner to create a slit-scan effect on them.
