As a resident of Saigon, I am deeply drawn to the nostalgic aesthetic of Saigon in the 20th century, including its pop culture, fashion, architecture, signages, advertising, etc. Sống, a brand that aims to recapture the essence of vintage Saigon, was a dream client for me. I was grateful to work with them for a new visual identity in 2022 when they launched a new restaurant in Thao Dien, Saigon.
Challenge:
While it was clear that the typography and illustration should be hand-drawn with a distinct style, it was necessary to balance this with adaptability.
